Flood waters are to be classified as category 3, which contains contaminants such that it should be handled as if it were raw sewage. Extreme caution should be utilized when working in flood contaminated buildings. The waters can contain raw sewage, animal feces, hepatitis C, and the E-Coli bacteria.
